About Me

I'm a Marriage and Family Therapist Associate, licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapy. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of California, San Diego and my Master's degree in Counseling at Western Seminary in San Jose, California.

A little about me: I decided to become a therapist after being in counseling myself. In doing my own work of processing grief and anxiety and a host of other things, I discovered how incredibly healing it can be to have someone in your corner, supporting you, challenging you, and walking alongside you as you work through your "stuff." There was no silver bullet or hocus-pocus; only a compassionate and knowledgable counselor who could hold up a proverbial mirror and help me connect the dots that were already there. I fell in love with that process and want to be a part of bringing that healing and freedom to others.

As a child of Korean immigrant parents, I have the unique but shared experience of growing up as a third culture kid and the challenges and blessings that can bring. As a wife and mother of three young boys, I have incredible compassion on young parents and couples who are just trying to figure out how to do life well in each stage. As someone who has lived with anxiety, I know what it's like to exist with a baseline level of anxiety at all times and  to have the fear of a panic attack always around the corner. BUT I also know what it can be like to face those demons and overcome them.

My story may be similar to yours, or it may be completely different. It's my privilege and joy to get to know my clients' unique challenges and help them move forward in the ways that are most meaningful to them. We all have a vision for the life we want to live, and sometimes that's a long ways down the road from where we are right now. There's absolutely no shame in that; just know that there is a way forward.
